Interested in reducing your carbon footprint and living more sustainably, but just not sure how to get
started? Creating a more sustainable lifestyle need not be overwhelming. It can be accomplished by
taking modest, incremental steps that work for you and those you live with. Ideas will be applicable
both to true beginners as well as those who’ve been working at this a while, but are in need some
support and inspiration to make further lifestyle improvements.
As Director of Mid-Missouri Peaceworks, Mark Haim does public education and advocacy on peace,
justice and sustainability issues. He is a co-founder of the Center for Sustainable Living, the Peace
Nook, the Columbia Earth Day Coalition, Missourians for Safe Energy, Missouri Energy Action and
the Columbia Community Grocery. Mark hosts a weekly radio show, Evening Edition, on 89.5 KOPN
that focus on peace, sustainability and related issues.
